Australians overwhelmingly believe immigrants make positive contributions to the economy and to cultural life. Fewer people express a negative view of immigration than they did more than a decade ago.

Most respondents – 86% – believe immigrants improve Australian society.

A solid majority disagree that immigrants take jobs from those born in Australia.

29 %

Under a third of people believe immigrants increase crime.

Two thirds of people disagree that immigrations undermine Australian culture.
