Stress increased during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic with many more people reporting stress levels had increased than those saying stress had improved. More in the younger age groups reported stress worsening than those aged 45 and over.
Nearly half of those surveyed (47%) say the feel either a lot or a little more stress during May 2020.
Females report slightly more increased stress than males (48% to 46%).
More than half of those aged under 45 years report stress levels have worsened in May 2020.
The highest rate of net worsening (worsening minus % reporting improvement in stress) was amongst 25-34 year olds with a 43% net worsening.
